Background and Aim : Some studies have shown that taking some of the following intrauterine injectionsof sperm can improve the chances of fertility. The aim of this study was to determine the effect ofDydrogesterone and progesterone vaginal on the success of pregnancy in patients undergoing intrauterineinjections of sperm.Methods : In a clinical trial study, 210 infertile women under Intrauterine Sperm Injection were randomlydivided in three groups of 70.The first group were received 400 mg vaginal progesterone suppository, oneat night, the second group were received 10 mg oral Dydrogesterone one day and the third group, werereceived placebo in the same time and dose. After 16 days, the level of BhcG was evaluated for theoccurrence of pregnancy and, if positive, continued treatment with one of the medications up to 12 weeks.Serial ultrasounds were performed to assess the fetal status and the results of the treatment were comparedin three groups.Results : According to the results, overall success fertility among patients under IUI was 14.3%. Thesuccess rate of fertility in the control, vaginal progesterone and oral Dydrogesterone was 10%, , 14.3% and18.6% respectively (P=0.35). the chance of fertility success in the group of oral dydrogestrone was 3.79times more than the control group(P=0.024)Conclusion : According to the results of the study, it seems that prescribing of oral Dydrogesterone had apositive effect for increase of success fertility chance in patients under Intrauterine Sperm Injection butaccording to our study limitations, such as small sample size, further studies are needed.
