Cities are constantly developing and establishment of new structure in each development stage varies, sometimes they are made according to planning and sometimes according to previous patterns with minimum necessary adaptations. One of the most important issues in contemporary urban development that is ever increasing in importance is that of safety in urban development.The question set forth in this study is that whether in the current urban development and texture, in other words continuance of current trend of urban development, there is possibility to implement measure to secure the safety of spaces as well as maintaining the aforesaid trend.In order to investigate the answers to such question, we have adapted the following method: first a selection of standards related to safety from National Building Code and several other articles in this field are presented. Afterwards the current urban development status in the Honarestan Street of Hamedan is described. Considering available standards and current status of the target area, a short comparison is made to highlight issues and problems and also safe and relatively safe points. After completing the said stages, by considering the facilities and problems of the target area, solutions are provided that are the result of investigations made in this study and can be extended to similar regions
