In The Moon is Down he hastried to show that the regional and global wars have had devestating impacts onhumanity. In this novel, via the major elements of the fiction, characterizationand setting, he has created an atmosphere of uncertainty and threat in the courseof the story which upon scrutiny can be applied to the prevelant obsessions ofman and his life concerns. The paper via text analysis and projection method hastried to show Stienbeck’s tact in revealing the theme of threat which is inhumanein nature and has a devestating impact upon the humane nature of human beingand his ideosyncracies. The paper implicationally condemnes the miseries cameinto existence by human being against each other which have blurred man’sview of his views of humanity.
