خلاصه مقاله:
The main purpose of this study is to determine the interactive effectiveness of spiritual intelligence (SI) and life skills training (LST) on students mental health. The sample consisted of 166 male and female university students who completed the SI questionnaire and SCL90-R in pre-test phase. They were classified into four groups according to the scores they obtained in SI (above or below the average score). Two groups were considered as the experimental groups and the others two were consisted as control groups (both groups contained both high and low SI subjects). The experimental groups took part in two separate classes sixteen 3-hours- sessions and were taught life skills in accordance with WHO method. The class sessions lasted 8 weeks. After the completion of the sessions, all groups completed the SCL90-R (post-test). In order to evaluate the continuity and the changes of the results, they were then asked to complete the SCL90-R again (as a part of follow up). The results of t-test suggest that both SI and LST, independently, affect the improvement of mental health and its components in experimental groups; however in their interaction, they had no significant impact on the mental health.
