Abstract:

The uncontrolled growth of energy consumption in the country is such that in coming years Iran will turn from an energy-exporting country into an energy importer one. To address this threat, it is essential to implement strategies to optimize the production, distribution and consumption of energy, to modify its consumption patterns and to utilize renewable energies. In this research, the modeling and simulation of a solar photovoltaic power generation system is based on storage in the battery to meet the load requirements of the Kermanshah power plant and refinery. The purpose of this research is to find the amount of electrical energy generated annually by the photovoltaic cell and the optimum size of the system components. Another goal of this research is to optimize the cost of energy by considering the high reliability of this system. In this research, information on solar radiation was taken from the New Energy Organization and simulated and used by Homer software. After the program implementation it was observed that the total amount of electrical energy produced by the cell in one year was 2163569kWh, which is much higher than the demanded load and if the system is connected to the network, revenues can also be earned by its sales. The cost of the system for high-configuration is 0.96 $ / kwh, for which the return on investment is 9.12 years.
