In this work, a novel structure has been proposed in order to design a phononic crystal based sensor capable of sensing differenttypes of liquids. The proposed solid-fluid structure consists of a water as matrix and steel rods as inclusions Defect modes are introduced to the bandgap by applying a created by changing the radii of the inclusions. A resonant mode in the frequency range of the defect modes. Usingfinite element method (FEM),it has been shown that the amount of the liquids can be measured which is so vital in the manufactured products such as petrochemical and refinery companies. Finally, the sensor is optimized to sense all the percentages of alcohol, mixing sugar in water and acidity in liquids.
