Abstract:

The study on micropiles for seismic improvement and reduction of structure settlement has received much attention by structure theorists. This is due to the performance of these piles in improvement of seismic performance of bed soil and soil density and reduction in structure settlement. This study is modelled on different arrangements of these micro-piles in different states and the arrangement is modelled in three states of thickness and three states of bed soil and four states for arrangement under steel 10-story building and is tested in Bam earthquake. Also, the effect of batter micro-piles on relative displacement of structure is evaluated. The arrangement and samples are evaluated based on relative displacement of structure and are compared together. Then, based on the results of arrangement of micro-piles, the effect of angle of micro-piles on relative displacement of last story is investigated. For parametric studies, finite element ABAQUS software is applied. In this sample, micropile around the foundation environment is better in terms of arrangement than seismic performance and in terms of thickness, for each 5cm increase in diameter of micro-piles, 4-5% of relative displacement of structure is reduced and these changes are no considerable in different soils. Also, micro-piles with angle 60 degree can improve relative displacement in structure about 16.6% and other angles 45, 30 can create 5% to the bearing piles for behavior improvement and reduce relative displacement and stress in structure.
