Abstract:
A novel approach to the preparation of a sensing layer for ammonia detection is reported in this study which is fabricated through the combination of two processes includes electrospinning of cellulose acetate and then in situ polymerization of polyaniline on electrospun fibers. The sensor based on this structure is sensitive to ammonia gas which is evidenced by the limit detection of that (50 ppm). Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images demonstrated the morphology of the as-prepared CA/PANI fibers. Fouriertransform infrared (FT-IR) indicated that the PANI was successfully assembled on the surfaces of the CA fibers.
