Abstract:

This paper review and discusses effects of Energy Productivity on mining activities including Tunneling by introducing basic foundation of productivity and previous research and assessing them on a case study. In order to conduct the research, after reviewing latest and previous studies on the importance of energy consumption on mining activities done by other researchers, Kendrick-Kreamer productivity measurement model has been introduced and explained. In the next step, the model was used so as to calculate a real water tunneling project which can be contemplated as a sub-category of mining activities by computing partial and total factor productivity. The results show that Energy consumption is 2.04 M/IRRe-07 which is almost twice as any other indexes. Finally, the resulting values has been discussed and some appropriate solutions concerning improving the energy consumption have been introduced.
