Abstract:
In this research, Fe(III)salophen on functionalized SBA-15 was synthesized. For this purpose, salophen ligand was synthesized by using salicylaldehyde and 1,2-phenylenediamin in ethanol [1]. Then it was purified and its iron complex was prepared [2]. Also nanoporous silica type SBA-15 was synthesized [3] and functionalized with (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane [4] and used as a support for [Fe(salophen)Cl] complex. The predicted structure of this heterogeneous catalyst characterized and confirmed by UV-Vis, FT-IR, SEM, BET, XRD and TGA. In the second step, the catalytic activity of this complex in epoxidation of several alkenes was successfully investigated. The effects of amount of oxidant and catalyst, reaction time, and different solvents were investigated and the optimum conditions obtained. The results showed that after applying these conditions, the acceptable and comparable conversion percentage and epoxide selection percentage were obtained at room temperature. Whereas, the alkenes epoxidtion reaction did not improve in the absence of the catalyst at room temperature.
