Abstract:

With the increasing speed of industrialization, dyes discharged into the water and wastewater widely which is a very important source of pollution [1,2]. In recent years, magnetic nanoparticles of spinel ferrites and their composites have been noticed as good dyes adsorbents due to their high surface area, faster separation and high absorption capacity. In this research, MnFe2O4 nanoparticles by sol-gel and co-precipitation method and then MnFe2O4/saponite nanocomposite were synthesized. The microstructure and interface properties of the obtained composites were characterized by XRD, SEM, EDS and FT-IR. Comparison of magnetic properties of two MnFe2O4 samples was performed. The results showed the amount of methylene blue absorption with concentration 10 mg/l, in alkaline environment with pH=10, under UV light is 97%, which increases with the increase in the amount of absorbent and temperature of the degradation of the color.
