Abstract:
Sulfonated magnetic core-shell nanoparticle was synthesized as a new, eco-friendly, available, efficient, and recyclable catalyst. The synthesized catalyst was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The resulted catalyst was applied in the synthesis of coumarin derivatives by the Pechmann condensation of various phenols with β-ketoesters under solvent-free conditions at 120 °C. Using method was detected as a new, efficient and inexpensive method with advantages such as time and cost saving, simple renewable experimental protocol, short reaction time and high purity and high product yields. Also, this protocol was identified as an eco-friendly and green synthesis due to avoiding toxic elements and solvents and using magnetically recoverable catalyst. After complete the reaction, catalyst was easily removed, washed, and prepared for the next synthesis.
