A Review of the Legal and Ethical Context of Engineering

This paper is the introduction to the special issue entitled context and legal ethics context of engineering. Ethical conduct exists in almost every profession. Engineering ethics is the field of system of moral principles that apply to the practice of engineering. Field-specific legal and ethics of conduct have been around for decades, each articulating specific ethical and professional guidelines.- However, a thorough review of the legal and ethical context of engineering is unavailable. This study aims to address this gap by reviewing papers published in peer-reviewed journals to ascertain the status of this research area and identify future research of legal and ethical contexts. Also, the Methodology section presents the information source and the process for the collection of this information. The papers are analyzed in terms of legal and ethicalcontext, topic coverage and research design and methodologies. This study issues related to information security established codes of ethics. We then identify problems with the legal and ethical context of engineering that are constructed and offer solutions for overcoming these problems. The findings of this study are believed to provide useful references for the future application of the research of the legal and ethics of engineering researches.
