خلاصه مقاله:
Trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias (TACs) other than cluster headache include hemicranias continua (HC), paroxysmal hemicranias (PH) and short onset neuralgiform headache with autonomic symptoms (SUNA or SUNCT) in order of frequency. They share common features with cluster headache such as the unilateral distribution of pain, severity and the presence of ipsilateral autonomic symptoms and agitation during the pain episode. There are also important clinical features that differentiates them from the more common cluster headache. The most valuable differentiating features include some demographic features, duration and frequency of pain episodes, temporal course and the treatment response. This differentiation is very important among TACs, since the treatment modality is completely different among TACs. HC and PH are unique in the absolute response to indomethacin and SUNA/SUNCT is different from other TACs in treatment strategy.A practical approach to identification and proper management of these TACs, amongst the vast number of headache visits in the office is briefly discussed in this presentation.
