Abstract:

The issue of the depletion of oil reserves in the world, and the problem of air pollution produced by motor vehicles, motivate many researchers to seek alternative energy sources to propel the vehicle. One promising way is to replace combustion motor with an electric motor, which is known as an electric vehicle .An accurate evaluation of the performance of an electric vehicle requires a dynamic analysis of its behavior. This paper presents a modeling and simulation of an electric vehicle using the ADVISOR (Advanced Vehicle Simulator). In modeling, the dimensions of a vehicle suitable for use, technical features of an electric DC-motor and a battery with sufficient quality as a source of energy, have been utilized. In this modelling, New European Drive Cycle (NEDC) has been used. According to this cycle, forces make the vehicle move and resistance forces preventing its movement have been calculated. The results of torque, power, and state of the charge, current and temperature of the electric motor, have been obtained depending upon time. Also, effect of drag coefficient of vehicle on state of the charge and battery temperature, was investigated. Its maximum speed reaches 130 km / h. In this simulation, two climatic zones (warm climates of 50 degrees Celsius and cold climates of -10 degrees Celsius) were used to influence the surface charge temperature of the battery, which reached 40 degrees Celsius at both end temperatures. The increase in drag coefficient on the battery charge surface and the surface temperature of the battery has been studied by increasing the drag coefficient from 0.19 to 0.25, reducing the battery charge from 25% to 20% and the battery surface temperature from 40 ° C to 50 ° C. The degree of Celsius has increased.
