Abstract:
To investigate the length-weight relationships in Capoeta gracilis, a total number of40 specimens were caught in November 2011 from the Sefidroud River, in theSouthern Caspian Sea Basin. The specimens were fixed into 10% formaldehyde atthe sampling site and transported to the laboratory of fisheries department, Universityof Guilan, for further studies. Total length and weight of each fish was measured tothe nearest 0.01 mm and 0.001 g, respectively. The measurement of the fish was donewith maximum accuracy. The obtained data were analyzed using the formula W =aLb. The b values estimated for the total length and standard length in relation tobody weight were 2.939 and 2.861, respectively, indicating the allometric growthpattern. In all cases, the correlation was more than 94% and the b value indicated apositive allometric growth for this fishes.
