Abstract:
In this study, effects of oxygen tension on some growth parameters of rainbow trout(Oncorhynchus mykiss) were investigated. For this purpose 135 fish (average weight= 100 g) were divided into three group and exposed to several levels of dissolvedoxygen (hypoxia, normoxia, hyperoxia ) for 4 week. The growth parametersincluding weigh gain, feed conversion, specific growth and feed consumption andrate were measured. The results indicate that fish expose to hypoxia show lowerweight gain, specific growth and food consumption when compared to those exposedto normoxia and hyperoxia. Also they had higher food conversion compared withthose experienced normoxia and hyperoxia. Results of this experiment indicated thatsuitable concentration of oxygen has a great important for aquaculture.
