Abstract:

National Museum of Natural History (MMTT) is one of the most important nationalauthorities in the field of biodiversity identification and collection. The collection ofmarine bony fish of Iran over the past five decades, from the Persian Gulf, Oman Sea,and Caspian Sea has collected, identified and preservation. However, based onavailable information, review the taxonomy, revision of existing species on the basisof new and updated references to relevant information is essential. The total numbersof marine bony fishes in MMTT were 1370 specimens which collected during 1348to 1385. Among of these, 308 specimens belonging to 104 species and 51 familieswere from the Persian Gulf, Oman Sea and Caspian Sea. Fish kept the drama andarchives, 137 samples for the Caspian Sea, 171 samples from the Persian Gulf andOman Sea was reviewed. To identify and ensure the results are confirmed,ichthyologic biometric data (morphometric - meristic) were sent to museums inCanada, South Africa and Australia.Scientific names and taxonomic of 22 species,14 genera and 8 families from the Caspian Sea, and 20 species,12 genera and 6families from the Persian Gulf and Oman sea fishes were modified. Two speciesJohnius carrututta and Plotosus limbatus and a new species Balistes sp.A suspiciousand probably the first report of the Persian Gulf, the Persian Gulf and Oman SeaTrypauchen vagina introduced species of rare and indigenous species such as Tryssawhiteheadi (Endemic) Persian Gulf were other results of the survey.
