The inoculation of probiotic bacilli in tank culture system of Ctenopharyngodon idella larvae and evaluation their effects on the exploitation of different Artemia nauplii

Abstract:

Artemia urmiana, Artemia fransiscana and Artemia parthenogenetica nauplii werefed by grass carp larvae. In this probiotic experiment the blend of Bacillus circulansand B. licheniformis were added in rearing tanks of grass carp at a concentration of1×10 6 CFU/ L. Within treatments, final body weight (FBW), specific growth rate(SGR), thermal growth coefficient (TGC), daily growth coefficient (DGC) andrelative gain rate (RGR) were significantly affected by probiotic bacillus (P<0.05).The feeding parameters of protein efficiency ratio (PER), lipid efficiency ratio (LER)and energy efficiency ratio (EER) increased significantly in probiotic treatments ofG.P-Bacteria and G.F-Bacteria where the grass carp larvae fed on with Artemiafransiscana and Artemia parthenogenetica respectively. The highest growth andfeeding parameters were obtained in treatment of G.P-Bacteria while in treatment ofG.U-Bacteria (fed on with Artemia urmiana nauplii) were significantly (P<0.05)lower than other treatments. The best feeding performance of grass carp larvae wasobtained by feeding of Artemia parthenogenetica nauplii from probiotic treatment ofG.P-Bacteria.
