Abstract:

High quality meat with suitable color has particular importance in public. Rainbowtrout cannot synthesis carotenoid; thus, today uses of chemical and syntheticcompounds and/or live foods are common way to create desire color in rainbow trout.For this regard, use of live foods can be more effective and also cheaper. In this study,forty number of rainbow trout larvae were divided in 2 treatments (two replicate foreach treatment) and fed diets containing gammarus(Gammarus fasciatus) , bloodworm(Chironomus sp) and (Artemia urmiana) . Based on the results, using gammarusdiet was significantly related to emerge color of specimens in comparison to othertreatment diets. It was concluded that larvae fed gammarus can create the desiredcolor and this diet is effective to change pigments of rainbow trout.
