Abstract:

To investigation of length-weight relationships in Capoeta trutta, in total 193specimens (75 males, 90 females and rest non-determined sex) were sampled usinggill net with 25-55 mm mesh in September 2008 from the lake of Dez Dam (Dezfoul,Khuzestan Province). Total length and weight of specimens were measured to thenearest 1 mm and g, respectively. Independent T-test showed no significantdifference between sexes (P> 0.05). Mean total length and weight were 253.466 ±67.317 (SD) mm and 195.233 ± 214.737 (SD) g, respectively. The relationshipbetween total length and weight of males was LogW=-1.097 + 2.94LogL, femalesLogW=-1.377+3.036LogL, and all fish LogW=-1.670+2.98LogL. In all cases, thecorrelation was more than 94% and the b value indicated an isometric growth pattern. The condition factor of this species in the Dez Dam for males was 0.76(0.67-0.84),females 0.88 (0.78-0.99) and all fish 0.83 (0.60-0.99).
