Using concrete in buildings effects building’s architecture in different ways. Among these, wecan mention the passing of light which highly influences the architecture of the buildings.Ultra-high performance light transmitting concrete is one of the suitable answers to this issue,but to use this kind of concrete, it is required to have enough information about concretespecifications and the amount of light transition through it. To manufacture light transmittingconcrete samples, Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) optical fibers are used. The number anddistance between optical fibers are important, because it’s not only affects the physicalproperties of concrete but also is a determinative factor for the final cost of concrete as well.The distance between optical fibers has an effect on determining the size of used aggregates toprepare concrete. This research mentions the necessity of comprehensive recognition ofconcrete and properties of Light transmitting concrete by dealing with the issue oftransmitting light from concrete and its importance in buildings architecture. We can obtainenough information about the amount of light transition of this kind of concrete, compressivestrength, fixe mixing plan that is Practical when we are using different ratio of optical fibersin light transmitting concrete , and the durability by manufacturing many specimen of lighttransmittingconcrete with 3,5,7,10,15 PMMA optical fibers in its. According to the gaineddata from these experiments, we can find an optimum ratio of PMMA optical fibers in lighttransmitting concrete from light transmitting and compressive strength view points, which ishighly useful to construct and use this kind of concrete in modern buildings.
