In recent years the use of composite materials has vastly increased. Nowadays there is great interest in damage detection in composite materials using non-destructive tests. There are several different approaches that can be used to obtain information about the existence, location and extension of the fault. The main goal of this paper is to use vibration response of a composite plate with the purpose damage detection and localization according to frequency domain in modal analysis. The features extracted are used as the input data in an artificial intelligence method for detecting the severity of damages. Experiments are also conducted to validate the developed model.
