In this study synthesis and characterization of mono dispersed spherical minoxidil-zinc oxide nano composite (1) has been performed by chemical bath method from the reaction between Zinc (II) acetate, minoxidil ligand {C9H15N5O = minoxidil = (2,4-diamino-6- piperidine-1-yl)pyrimidine N-oxide) and KI in methanol at 60 °C. Characterization of nano composite (1) was carried out by FTIR, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), EDAX and TG/DTA. The result showed that the particle size are about 77 nm. Zinc oxide nano particles was prepared from decomposition of the nano composite (1) at 400 °C. Characterization of mono dispersed spherical zinc oxide nano particles was performed by FTIR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), EDAX and X-ray powder diffraction XRD. The result showed that the particle sizes are about 34 nm. Thermal analysis stablishes that zinc oxide prepared at 550 °C.
