Abstract:

Nowadays, due to the size reduction of heat sinks, manufacturers utilize some effective passive ways for the cooling system of these devices. The passive system is completely reliable and has almost no cost for circulating coolant compared to other cooling methods. Closed pipes are widely used, for example, in electronic devices, especially in electronic yards, for cooling purposes. The flow in these pipes is slug flow. That is, between the vapor phase, the liquid phase is located, and this arrangement is repeated repeatedly. The coolant in these devices has a viable role in absorbing heat generated in the heat sinks. Utilizing the slurry of nano encapsulated phase change materials is a suitable and new method in optimizing the heat transfer efficiency. Furthermore, adding a kind of octadecane as a nanoparticle in water causes to increase in heat transfer is studied. The amount of nanofluid slurry filled half of the volume of the micro closed-loop heat pipe. By replacing this slurry instead of pure water, heat transfer increases. And subsequently decreases thermal resistance which, is in the amount of about 35.29%, that is an impressive amount.
