A novel geomechanical analytic method for preventing casing failure occurrence

Dependence of casing failure which is a costly and unfavorable problem to occur on mechanical properties of formation is studied in this paper . Modification of the former methods to obtain a new relationship between formations geomechanics and horizontal insitu stresses has done , where a specific new chart has been developed to show the potentially high risk zones for caing failure happening. this chart shows the accurate horizontal stresses profile and casing performance graphs to recognizing casing collapse / shear zones.
