Simulation model Validation of an Exploration Gas Field Using Drill Stem Test Data

Evalution and decision making process of oil and gas fields are based on field model scenarios; degree of parameter certainty in exploration field is low as there is a little available data obtained about the characteristecs of the reservoir. In this kind of projects as there is no production history the production scenarios are so roughly obtained . in this study , DST data of a giant gas condensate exploration field in iran was taken as the production history but in short perioid of time . after fluid simulation the modified ping -robison was the suitable EOS for fluid properties simulation . compositional simulation model was built using ECLIPSE300. the build -up and draw -down histories of the 2 drilling wells on the field were entered to simulation model . after some minor modification on reservoir properties based on well test interpretation, convenient history matching of gas condensate, water produciton, bottom -hole pressure of simulation results and DST data was obtained using this method gave added values to reservoir management , i.e. we got more use of the data which considerable money and time were spent to obtain them and decreased the uncertainty of the simulation model which was the main material for economic analysis and decision - making of the field.
