Seismic identification of channels in the Bangestan group in an oil field in south-west Iran

Integrated seismic attributes , amplitude , acoustic impedance AL, variance and etc., were used to delineate and to characterize a compled regional channel deposition system in a carbonate reservoir interval in the lower part of the sarvak formaion in bagestan group in an oil field in south west iran. often fluvial channels and deltaic depositions are considered as a good reservoir because of their good reservoir properties . but identifying the channels using seismic techniques is very difficult due to low seismic reslolution in the study area. to determine the distribution of the channels , we generated horizon slices of sarvak members after structural interpretation and then applied different kind of attributes. these attributes allowed the channel distribution and lateral variations in reservoir properties to be determined. finally , we picked the boundaries of the channels on successive time slices and interpret their petrophysical properties form attribute maps to create input parameters for geological models.
