خلاصه مقاله:
Desulphurization of gasoline has been investigated by chloramine T sodium N-chloro -P- touene sulfonamide. Varous kinds of sulfur compouinds in gasoline have been reacted with chloramine T in hydrogen -donating solvents such as methanol and other alcohols. when a small amount of acetic acid was added in to reation mixture , the rate of the chlorination is accelerated. sulfur compounds in gasoline are converted , by the reaction with chloramine T dissolved in methanol PH<6 , to form the corresponding dulfimides. the result suggests that the rate of the reaction depends on the electron density on the sulfur atoms in sulfur compounds and as a result benzothiophene having electron density are desulfurized mor easily than the other sulfur compounds in gasoline.
