Abstract:
The technology of syngas production using mixed -conducting ceramic membranes takes the advantage of potentially reducing the energy and capital cost of syngas production significantly , thus making the matural gas converison to alternative fuel and chemicals economically more feasible. in this work performance of ceramic membrane reactor as a novel route to convert methane to syngas has been investigated. a mixed -conducting perovskite -type BSCFO was synthesized which has been incorporated into membrane reactors packed with NiO/Al2O3 for achievint the spontaneous conversion of natural gas to synthesis gas. the membrane reator made from BSCFO was successfully operated for the POM reaction at temperature of 750-950 C , with methane conversion and CO selectivity higher than 95% . also high oxygen permeability was achieved about 12cm3/cm2. min in comparison to helium-air atmosphere (about 2.2cm3/cm2.min. )
