Abstract:

in this study oil degrading fungi were isolated using selective media and examined on soil samples intentionally polluted with 10% crude oil . Based on enumeration of fungal and bacterial communities phanerochaete chrysosporium had the maximum growth rate in the oily soil; although retarded the bacteria growth . strain 1136 had an acceptable growth rate the second best after p.chrysosporium and also elevated bacterial growth rate so did strains A1 and S1 after 1136.as a conclusion , in terms of fungal and bacterial coordination, strains like 1136, A1 and S1 suggest more appropriate than P. chrysosporium for bioremediation processes where fungi degrade or decompose ordinary and heavy compounds and also help others bacteria to degrade. although chemical analyses of treated soil samples in neesed to confirm microbiological results.
