Abstract:
Friction is a type of response during the extrusion process and requires a suitable lubricant to reduce friction. In this paper, three lubricants of graphite, molybdenum disulfide and zinc starate were used in the extrusion process of aluminum 6063. The extrusion mold is made of hot working steel tool (H13). To investigate the effect of friction factor on lubricated and non-lubricated conditions is determined. The results showed that friction was the lowest for graphite and the highest value was determined for non-lubricant. Next, the extrusion process was modeled from the front with Abacus finite element software. After validation of the simulation, the obtained values are compared with the simulation
