خلاصه مقاله:
Strip foundation, as a very applicable geotechnical structure constructed below buildings and other structures, should beanalyzed carefully, and different methods can be applied to estimate its bearing capacity approximately. Over the years,the bearing capacity of strip foundation has already been evaluated by many researchers. Their analyses are based onempirical formulas, numerical methods and many others. In this paper, with using theories of active and passive earthpressure in retaining walls, the bearing capacity of strip foundation is calculated and its method is provided as a newone. An imaginary retaining wall is assumed to be under the foundation to calculate the bearing capacity of stripfoundation in C-Ø soils; moreover, the reliability of the method is verified with the methods in literature.
