Abstract:
A surface plasmon resonance sensor using photonic crystal gratings from first order diffraction is investigated. In this study a new device is introduced, a nanohole arrays in thin layer of gold metal film with silicon nitride film on a glass substrate and the symetric hybrid metal–dielectric nanohole grating device. The diameter of the nanoholes is chosen 240 nm. The silicon nitride film is 175 nm.In this paper maximum resonance spectra with high sensitivity can be detected by changing the parameters in the wavelength of interest. It is also shown that after applying bio layer the optical resonance wavelengths from the first-order diffraction are shifted. With this new technique the size and cost of the biochemical can be reduced and the need to use a traditional optical spectrometer for resonance spectral measurement can be eliminated. Calculations were carried out using a finite difference time domain (FDTD).
