In this work speed control of Induction Motor (IM) by V/Hz method using MATLAB software is done. Speed control by conventional control methods like lookup table and PI and using ANN1 is investigated. Initially speed control of IM using conventional method (lookup table) and using artificial neural networks is investigated. Then using PI controller an ANN has been done. Next by adding the slip control loop IM performance was evaluated for changes in load. In this work a Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) is developed for use in SPWM 2 speed control systems for IM control. The performance of the IM drive has been analyzed for no load, constant and variable loads; and the results are compared.
