Catalyst-free and green synthesis of 4,4 -(arylmethylene)-bis-(3- methyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5-ols) in magnetized distilled water

An efficient and eco-friendly method is introduced for the synthesis of 4,4 -(arylmethylene)-bis-(1H-pyrazol-5-ols) in magnetized distilled water (MDW) as a green solvent. The reactionof two equivalents of 3-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5(4H)-one with various aromaticaldehydes in MDW gives the 4,4 -(arylmethylene)-bis-(3-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5-ol)derivatives in good yields. This green method offers the advantages of short reaction times,low-cost, simple work-up procedure, and no need for an organic solvent.
