Natural amino acid: an efficient catalyst for multi-component synthesis of 3-substituted-4-arylmethylideneisoxazol-5(4H)-ones

A new green protocol is reported for the synthesis of 3-substituted-4-arylmethylideneisoxazol-5(4H)-ones in the presence of natural amino acids as an efficient and environmentally friendly catalyst under solvent-free conditions. The advantages of this one-pot multi-component procedure are experimental simplicity, easy work-up, and affords desired products with high to excellent yields.
