Abstract:

An efficient approach described for the synthesis of highly substituted imidazoles in the presence of ZnCl2/urea as an efficient catalyst through multi-component reaction under solvent-free conditions. The advantages of this one-pot procedure are experimental simplicity, easy work-up, and affords desired products with high to excellent yields. Furthermore, this procedure is highly sustainable because of the employment of readily available and biodegradable deep eutectic solvent.
