Abstract:

To improve the mechanical properties of the rubber products, reinforcing agents are largely used. In this regard, the application of nanoparticles to reinforce rubbers has attracted much attention. However, the dispersion of nanoparticles in rubbers is a challenge and is affected by the mixing parameters such as tempreture. In this study, nanocomposites based on natural rubber (NR)/carbon black containing clay nanoparticle and calcium carbonate were prepared on a two-roll mill at different tempretures. The effects of mixing temperature on the curing characteristics and mechanical properties of the samples were investigated. The curing rheometer graph illustrated that by increasing temperature, the scorch time and technical curing time were decresed. The mechanical tests showed the improvement of properties due to increasing of mixing tempreture.
