Abstract:

Ni/ γ-Al2O3 catalytic layer was coated on a stainless steel (SUS 304) substrate by electrophoretic deposition Method. In this research, the influence of solvent on creating a uniform catalytic layer, voltage effect on porosity of the formed layer and time deposition impact on thickness of the deposited layer was studied. The morphology and porosity were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), uniformity was detected by an optical microscope and thickness was measured by a film thickness measuring machine. The obtained results showed that methanol is an appropriate solvent to form a uniform layer on the stainless steel substrate, the high porous catalytic layers are accessible at high voltages and thickness of the deposited layer increases by increment in time deposition.
