Abstract:
The present study was an attempt to examine the fourth book of a six-volume series known as Vision 1 which has been teaching in fourth-grade secondary schools regarding the teachers and students point of views. Participants included 100 male and female students and 10 teachers in two secondary schools. Required data were collected through interviews and a questionnaire which was developed with reference to Cunningsworth s (1995) material evaluation checklist that contains fourteen categories. The data were analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative procedures. The findings revealed that (1) Vision 1 was perceived as a moderately adequate book, (2) there are significant differences in the ratings of teachers and students. Participants generally felt the need for some revisions in textbooks’ (a) supplementary materials, (b) Workbook and (c) Content and Subjects. Finally the evaluation offered recommendations for improvement in the textbook quality
