Abstract:

The main challenge of WSNs is energy efficiency and theirquick energy depletion because of tiny sensor nodes equipped by tinybatteries which are depleting fast causing short lifetime and instabilityof network ultimately. In this paper, we proposed a new method byusing one of the centralized clustering approaches to extend network lifetime and stability. Entire network region is divided into three separateregions with equal size and equal node number. We reformed setupphase and added another parameter to base station and also nodesstructures and apply some of changes based on this parameter to selectoptimum cluster heads in each region and in each round. In This way,network scalability and multi-hop communications are preservedthrough intermediary cluster heads in each region. Furthermore, clusterheads are responsible to collect and aggregate data from member nodesand send final data to base station. We estimated results by simulationand concluded that this algorithm in terms of energy consumption,operates better than previous clustering routing protocols and also hasmore contribution in energy efficiency and increasing the lifetime,stability and also quick convergence of network. So that we haveremarkable percentages of increase in network life time, stability andconvergence velocity which will be mentioned later.
