Abstract:

Nanotechnology, referred to as the fourth wave of the industrial revolution, has been widely used in various sciences. Using this technology, we can build structures on a scale of billionth of a meter that exhibit special properties in these conditions. Researchers have succeeded in incorporating nanoparticles into the packaging materials of the packaging industry, improving the mechanical properties, thermal resistance, and greater durability of packaging products against water and gas. That is, if the nanoparticles are used as the dispersed phase in the composite, the nanocomposite is obtained. In the food packaging industry, nanotechnology is used in three parts: reinforced nano-particle packaging, active and intelligent packaging, and biodegradable nano-composite packaging. Although each type of packaging has its own useful and useful properties, the migration of nanoparticles into food has raised concerns about the use of these packaging. Research has shown that nanoparticles are transported into the body not only through food, but also through respiration and skin. Therefore, in order to reduce the possible risks, further study is needed on how to use this technology in food packaging.
