Abstract:

The modern wind turbines due to their thin, tall and elastic structure largely tend to vibrate. Therefore, all parts of the wind turbines should be analyzed vibrationally and modally in the design steps and their natural frequencies should be checked with the excitation frequency of the wind turbines. Vibrational investigation of the wind turbine is done in different fields wherein investigating the mechanical parts of the rotor is one of these fields. The wind turbines’ rotor includes blades, hub and shaft. In this paper it has been tried to investigate the hub and blades, as the main parts of rotor, in terms of vibration. At first, the hub is investigated separately, and its natural frequencies are analyzed. Then, the modal analysis of rotor is performed using the blades with composite layering and its modes’ form and natural frequencies are calculated and the sensitive areas are determined. Finally, the modal analysis of the rotor is carried out considering the rotational speed of the rotor and the Campbell diagram of the rotor at different speeds is plotted. The Campbell diagram shows that in the working field of wind turbine, the rotor locates in the safe vibrational area. In the present research, the vibrational analysis has been done using finite element software
