2D-MoS2 nanosheets/graphene hybride nanostructure for sensitive electrochemical determination of amlodipine

Abstract:

Herein, we fabricate the hybrid of MoS2 nanosheets and graphene layers by a solvothermal method. The structural characterization of the hybrid by energy dispersive X-ray analysis, X-ray powder diffraction, and scanning electron microscope indicates that the MoS2 nanosheets dispersed on the two-dimensional graphene sheets. Significantly, the screen printed carbon electrode modified with resulting MoS2 /graphene composite (MoS2/G-SPCE) shows excellent catalytic activity for the electro-oxidation ofamlodipine (AML) characterized by higher oxidation current and lower overpotential than the unmodified electrode. The electrochemical performance of the modified electrode was evaluated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The MoS2/G modified electrode caused electrocatalytic oxidation of AML in a linear response range from 0.04 – 400.0 μM with the detection limit of 0.0012 μM. The proposed method was successfully applied to analyze AML in pharmaceutical preparations and urine samples. Overall, this work indicates MoS2/graphene-SPCE is promising for AML clinical assay
