Abstract:
The majority of the building energy consumption depends on providing indoor lighting and thermal comfort, in which building envelope has a significant effect on the performance of these factors. Among these, the window considers as a crucial component as the only source of solar energy and lighting also shading device provides control of the solar light and heat penetration through windows. In this study, the Multi-objective Optimization (MOO) method applied in order to optimize the Daylight, Energy, and thermal comfort performance off office building, considering a simplified model which designed via parametric tools. Optimization results emphasize the proper design of the shading device. Furthermore, Energy Usage Intensity and Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfaction (PPD) reduced by 30.23% and 3.74%, respectively. Also, Useful Daylight Illuminance value raised in 13.27% compared with the base model
