Abstract:
After middle of the 1990 mobile device technology has started to improve. In the paralleling, users use mobile devices in their daily operations like listen to music, watch videos, shoot videos, redeem coupons for purchases, view office documents, get driving instructions on a map, and so forth. All development showed that voice and message is not enough anymore. Multimedia should be in people’s mobile life, so mobile contents came into our lives. Mobile content technology and variety caused content garbage in a short time, so a new requirement emerged. Mobile content providers, mobile service providers, media groups etc. need some tools to clean mobile content garbage. We meet CMS (content management system) out of thisrequirement. CMS has provided us a variety of (centralized) technical and (de-centralized) non technical staff to create, edit, approve, archive, manage and finally publish (in a number of formats) a variety of content (such as text, graphics, video, documents etc). From supplying to delivering of content to end user, all operations can be managed by CMS. In this point mobile technology players saw that they need some new revenue models with voice and message. These all extra sources of revenue are called VAS (value-added-services). These are infotainment services, entertainment services, location based services etc. They have VAS models and scenarios but they need well designed CMS behind all models. VAS services cannot be successful without a well designed content management system.
