Synthesis and characterization of novel polyhydrazide by reaction of dihydrazide with diacid chloride

New interesting class of novel polyhydrazide containing flexible siloxan segments in the main chain were systhesized by low-temperature solution polycondensation of noveldihydrazide with diacid dichloride in N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc). The polymer were characterized by viscometry, solubility measurements, FT- IR spectroscopy and NMR spectroscopy. The polyhydrazide had inherent viscosities ranging from 0.18 to 0.21 dL g-1, and showed good solubility in several organic polar solvents such as:DMAc, N-methyl pyrolidone, N,N-dimethylformamideand had good thermal stability.
