Abstract:

‭Breeding and introducing tolerant and resistant wheat cultivars to environmental stresses and to diseases have great importance on yield increase processes. Making crosses between bread wheat cultivars with synthetic hexaploid lines has given rise to lines with more tolerance to drought conditions‬ص‭(Mujeeb Kazi et ai., 1996; Villareal et ai., 1995, 1997). In this study 61 international advanced lines derived from crosses of bread wheat lines with synthetic hexaploid lines together with three bread wheat controls (Chamran, 8-78-11 and 8-79-10) were examined in an (8x8) alfa lattice design in two separate experiments: under optimum and reduced irrigation conditions in two successive years (1382-83 and 1383-84) in Darab Agricultural research station. Besides the adult plant resistances of these lines were evaluated to yenow and leaf rusts in two trap nurseries of Zarghan and Mammassani stations. In addition a study was carried out to determine seedling resistances of these lines using two yellow rust pathotypes, 134 E 134A+ from Karaj and 166E138A+ from Arsenjan. During growth periods necessary recordings were accomplished. The results from combined analyses showed that lines 22, 24, and 54 had higher yields and more desirable characteristics than other lines or controls. These lines had also acceptable level of resistance to current yellow rust races ofFars Province. Finally lines with desirable yield and other positive aspects under optimum and reduced irrigation conditions and also acceptable resistance to yenow rust, will be introduced to drought project.‬
