The aim of this study was to investigate the possibility of developing a mix proportion for high performance concrete (HPC) using silica fume with high workability. Five main mixes are reported in this study. Cement contents varied from 340 to 500 kg/m3, with water/cement ratios of 0.26 to 0.56. Test specimens were water cured at room temperature. The compressive strength, modulus of rupture, and splitting strength of hardened concrete were determined in the laboratory. It is possible to achieve a cube strength of 80 N/mm2 using local materials and incorporating silica fume. There was a good correlation between cube strength and modulus of rupture and cylinder splitting results.
